What does the Bible say about Sickness and Healing?

Reasons why people get sick

1. Did not heed to God’s commandments

Exodus 15:26 (NKJV)
and said, “If you diligently heed the voice of the Lord your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the Lord who heals you.”

2. Partaking bread and wine without fully understanding the real essence of communion

1 Corinthians 11:27-30
27 “Therefore whoever eats this bread or drinks this cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of the body and [a]blood of the Lord. 28 But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of the bread and drink of the cup. 29 For he who eats and drinks [b]in an unworthy manner eats and drinks judgment to himself, not discerning the [c]Lord’s body. 30 For this reason many are weak and sick among you, and many [d]sleep.

Curative Actions and Character in the Bible who prayed and was healed

What should you do to be healed. Here the things you can do to heal.

1. Pray with deep faith

Hezekiah prayed to God, and He heard him and healed him. Hezekiah knew the truth and was following the commandments of God even before he got sick. When we pray, search for the truth about God, and obey it, He will listen to us.

Isaiah 38:1- 5
1“In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz came unto him, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Set thine house in order: for thou shalt die, and not live.
2 Then Hezekiah turned his face toward the wall, and prayed unto the LORD,
3 And said, Remember now, O LORD, I beseech thee, how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore.
4 Then came the word of the LORD to Isaiah, saying,
5 Go, and say to Hezekiah, Thus saith the LORD, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will add unto thy days fifteen years.

2. Serve God

Exodus 23:25
““So you shall serve the Lord your God, and He will bless your bread and your water. And I will take sickness away from the midst of you.”

Psalm 41:3
“The Lord will strengthen him on his bed of illness; You will [a]sustain him on his sickbed.”

3. Church elders must pray for the sick person in the name of the LORD

The Bible clearly stated IN THE NAME OF THE LORD, meaning not through Mary, St. Peter, Padre Pio, Manaoag, Carmel, or any other known saints who are believed to do miracles. These people cannot do anything without the power of God.

James 5:14
“Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.”

4. Believers must pray for the sick person with faith

It must be a prayer with faith because the prayer of a righteous person is effective.

James 5:15-16
15 And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.
16 [a]Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, [b]fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.

5. Confess sins

James 5:16
“16 [a]Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, [b]fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.

6. Anoint the person with oil

James 5:14
“Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.”

7. Have a joyful heart

Proverbs 17:22
“A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.”

Three Heavens

Many people believe they are going to heaven when they die but the Bible describes three heavens, not just one.

The critical question for them: “to which heaven are you going?”

Psalm 19:1
1 The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.

When the term “heaven” is not used symbolically in Scripture, it usually refers to one of three realms.

(1) Our immediate atmosphere

(2) Outer Space (The Sun, Moon, And Stars)

(3) The Home of God

Consequently, we find the Bible speaking of more than one heaven or multiple heavens.

More Than One Heaven

The fact that Jesus passed through the heavens gives evidence there is more than one heaven.

Hebrews 4:14
14 Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.

Third Heaven

2 Corinthians 12:2
I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such an one caught up to the third heaven.

If there is a third heaven, it seems there must also be a first and second heaven. The Bible, however, does not mention a first and second heaven.

1. The Atmospheric Heaven – The First Heaven

The atmospheric heavens include the air that we breathe as well as the space that immediately surrounds the earth. The technical term for this is the “troposphere.” It extends about twenty miles above the earth. The space above this is called the “stratosphere.” The Scripture uses the term heaven to describe this area.

Genesis 6:7
And the Lord said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them

Matthew 6:26
26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?

The word translated “air” is ouranos, the same Greek word that is elsewhere translated “heaven.” We have another example of this use in the book of James.

James 5:18
18 And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.

The first heaven mentioned in Scripture is the sky: the abode of birds, kites, and airplanes.  Genesis 1:20, Job 12:7, and Psalm 8:8 (among many other verses) speak of this first heaven.

Genesis 1:20
20 And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.

Job 12:7
But ask now the beasts, and they shall teach thee; and the fowls of the air, and they shall tell thee:

Psalm 8:8

The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas.

The sky that we see with our natural eyes is the first heaven

2. The Celestial Heaven – The Second Heaven

This use of the term heaven refers to outer space or the stellar heaven. It includes the sun, moon, and stars.

Matthew 24:29
29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:

Stars are said to be in heaven.

Deuteronomy 4:19
19 And lest thou lift up thine eyes unto heaven, and when thou seest the sun, and the moon, and the stars, even all the host of heaven, shouldest be driven to worship them, and serve them, which the Lord thy God hath divided unto all nations under the whole heaven.

The second heaven described in Scripture is “outer space“: the abode of the sun, the moon, and the stars. Genesis 15:5, Deuteronomy 4:19, Psalm 8:3 all mention this second heaven.

Genesis 15:5
And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be.

Deuteronomy 4:19 (cited already above)

Psalm 8:3
When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained;

Heaven Of Heavens

The Scripture speaks of heavenly spheres beyond that which is visible from the earth. It is called the heaven of heavens.

Deuteronomy 10:14
14 Behold, the heaven and the heaven of heavens is the Lord’s thy God, the earth also, with all that therein is.

The psalmist wrote.

Psalm 148:4
Praise him, ye heavens of heavens, and ye waters that be above the heavens.

The second heaven is Satan’s campground where he rules his evil empire with legions of demons and fallen angels.

3. Heaven As The Home Of God – The Third Heaven

The Bible is clear that God cannot be limited to any one geographical place.

1 Kings 8:27
27 But will God indeed dwell on the earth? behold, the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house that I have builded?

Yet Scripture also teaches us that there is a certain geographical place where God resides. It is also designated heaven. The writer to the Hebrews said.

Hebrews 8:1
Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens;

Stephen knew he was going into the presence of the Lord.

Acts 7:55
55 But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God,

Heaven is called the presence of God.

Hebrews 9:24
24 For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us:

The location of the abode of God is not revealed in Scripture.

The third heaven is where God and His angels’ abode.  Ephesians 1:20 says that the Father has raised Christ or Messiah from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places. In second Corinthians, Paul mentioned about the third heaven.

Ephesians 1:20
20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,

2 Corinthians 12:2-4
I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such an one caught up to the third heaven.
And I knew such a man, (whether in the body, or out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;)
How that he was caught up into paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter.

Acts 14:19
19 And there came thither certain Jews from Antioch and Iconium, who persuaded the people, and having stoned Paul, drew him out of the city, supposing he had been dead.

Most people expect to go to the third heaven when they die. Everyone will go there to come before the throne of God (Psalm 11:4) for judgement (Romans 14:10) but not everyone has unlimited access to it because there are those who would be sent to hell. (Luke 12:5).

Psalm 11:4
The Lord is in his holy temple, the Lord’s throne is in heaven: his eyes behold, his eyelids try, the children of men.

Romans 14:10
10 But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.

Luke 12:5
But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.

Summary:

Sometime the word heaven is used symbolically in Scripture. When used of an actual place, Scripture speaks of three heavens.

1. The first is the atmosphere above us.

2. The second heaven is the stellar heaven, the sun, moon, and stars.

3. The third heaven is where God resides, above the other two regions.

God, however, is certainly not limited to one geographical place.

Seraphim

Isaiah 6:1-13, LBP
₁ IN the year that King Uzziah died I saw the LORD sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled his temple.
₂ And above him stood the seraphim; each one had six wings; with two he covered his face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he did fly.
₃ And one called to another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts; the whole earth is full of his glory.
₄ And the posts of the door shook at the voice of him who called, and the house was filled with smoke.
₅ Then I said, Woe is me, I am dismayed; for I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell among a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts.
₆ Then one of the seraphim flew to me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar;
₇ And he touched my mouth and said to me, Lo, this has touched your lips; your iniquity is taken away, and your sins are forgiven.
₈ And I heard the voice of the LORD, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.
₉ And he said to me, Go, and tell this people, You can hear indeed, but understand not; and you can see indeed, but do not perceive.
₁₀ For the heart of this people is darkened and their ears are heavy and their eyes closed, so that they may not see with their eyes and hear with their ears and understand with their heart and be converted and be forgiven.
₁₁ Then I said, How long, O LORD? And he said, Until the cities lie waste without inhabitants and the houses without men and the land be utterly desolate
₁₂ And the LORD shall have cast off men far away and there shall be a great forsaking in the midst of the land.
₁₃ And they that remain in it shall be a tenth, and again they shall be burned and shall be made like the terebinth or like an oak which is fallen from its stump. The holy seed is the source thereof.

KJV with Strong’s Concordance Isaiah 6:2,6
6:2 Above 4605 it stood 5975 8802 the seraphims 8314: each one 259 had six 8337 wings 3671; with twain 8147 he covered 3680 8762 his face 6440, and with twain 8147 he covered 3680 8762 his feet 7272, and with twain 8147 he did fly 5774 8787.
6:6 Then flew 5774 8799 one 259 of the seraphims 8314 unto me, having a live coal 7531 in his hand 3027, [which] he had taken 3947 8804 with the tongs 4457 from off the altar 4196:(having…: Heb. and in his hand a live coal)

seraphims = 8314 in Strong’s Concordance – means burning, i.e. (figuratively) poisonous (serpent) from the word: SXY which is pronounced as saw-rawf’
– Originated from , a saraph/ seraph which is referenced as H8313 in Strong’s Concordance.

“It seems that seraphim (plural of seraph) are angelic beings of one of the higher heavenly orders. (((They appear to be similar to cherubim and, like cherubim, are heavenly guardians who serve the Almighty. In the only biblical reference to them they have a special concern for holiness and morality (Isa 1:6-7.”)))))) – from Bridgeway Bible Dictionary – Don Fleming

Note about angelic beings and similar like cherubim: The Bible did not mention that seraphims are categorized under angelic beings though they both seemed to have wings and are able to fly. Cherubims are described in the Bible differently, though just like angels and seraphims, they serve God and can fly and appear as if hanging in the heavens. Note that spiritual entities are able to fly or appear floating in the heavens (sky).

“The word Seraphim mentioned in Isaiah 6:2, 3, 6, 7 means fiery ones, in allusion, as is supposed, to their burning love. ((((They are represented as “standing” above the King as he sat upon his throne, ready at once to minister unto him.)))) Their form appears to have been human, with the addition of wings.” – from Illustrated Bible Dictionary – Matthew George Easton

Note about looking like humans: Seraphims have covered face with wings, they have feet, and hands. (Isaiah 6:2,6) But Isaiah did not mention if their face, feet and hand looks like human.

Isaiah 30:1-17, LBP
₁ WOE to the rebellious children, says the LORD, who take counsel, but not of me; and who offer wine offerings, but not of my spirit, that they may add sin to sin;
₂ Who start to go down to Egypt, and have not asked at my mouth, to strengthen themselves by the strength of Pharaoh, and to take shelter in the shadow of Egypt!
₃ Therefore shall the strength of Pharaoh be to your shame, and the shelter of the shadow of Egypt to your confusion.
₄ For while Pharaoh is in Zoan, his princes and ambassadors shall act deceitfully.
₅ They go to a people that cannot profit them, neither be a help nor a profit, but shame and reproach.
₆ The prophecy concerning the oppressors of the south: Into a land of trouble and anguish, from whence come the lion and the young lion, the viper and the fiery flying serpent, they will carry their riches upon the backs of young asses, and their treasures upon the humps of camels, to a people that shall not profit them.
₇ For the Egyptians shall help in vain and in falsehood; therefore I have warned them, for this their trust is in vain.
₈ Now come, write it on these tablets and on the book of their covenant, that it may be for the time to come, for a testimony for ever and ever;
₉ For this is a rebellious people, lying children, children who will not hear the law of the LORD;
₁₀ Who have said to the seers, See not; and to the prophets, Prophesy not to us reproof; speak to us deception, prophesy lies;
₁₁ Get you out of the way, turn aside out of the path, cause the Holy One of Israel to cease from before us.
₁₂ Therefore thus says the LORD, the Holy One of Israel: Because you have despised this word and trusted in oppression and have complained and yet trusted in it;
₁₃ Therefore this iniquity shall be to you as a breach ready to fall and as a high wall whose breaking comes suddenly at an instant.
₁₄ And its breaking is as the breaking of the potter’s vessel that is broken in pieces, without pity; so that there shall not be found in its fragments a shard to take fire from the hearth or to take water with it out of the cistern.
₁₅ Therefore thus says the LORD, the Holy One of Israel: When you will repent and rest you will be saved; in quietness and in hope shall be your strength; but you would not listen.
₁₆ But you said, Not so, for we will ride upon horses, and will flee upon swift ones; therefore you shall flee, and your pursuers shall be swift.
₁₇ A thousand shall flee at the rebuke of one; at the rebuke of five shall you flee till you are left as a beacon on the top of a mountain and as an ensign on a hill.

Linking Seraphim in Isaiah 6:1-13 in the Beasts being described in Revelation 4:6-9

Some Biblical scholars connect this with Revelation 4:6-9. But, we can find a difference

Revelation 4:6-9, LBP
₆ And before the throne was a sea of glass resembling crystal: and in the midst of the throne, and round about it, and in front of the throne, were four beasts, full of eyes before and behind.
₇ And the first beast was like a lion, and the second beast was like a calf, and the third beast had a face of a man, and the fourth beast was like a flying eagle.
₈ And the four beasts had each of them six wings about it; and they were full of eyes within; and they had no rest day and night saying, Holy, holy, holy, the LORD God Almighty, who was and is, and is to come.
₉ And when those wild beasts give glory and honor and thanks to him who sat on the throne, who lives for ever and ever,

Revelation 4:6, KJV
₆ And before the throne there was a sea of glass like unto crystal: and in the midst of the throne, and round about the throne, were four beasts full of eyes before and behind.

Revelation 4:6, ASV
₆ and before the throne, as it were a sea of glass like a crystal; and in the midst of the throne, and round about the throne, four living creatures full of eyes before and behind.

Revelation 4:6, NLT
₆ In front of the throne was a shiny sea of glass, sparkling like crystal. In the center and around the throne were four living beings, each covered with eyes, front and back.

Similarities: six wings & glorifying God

The only resemblance we can find with the Seraphim in Isaiah 6:1-13 and the beasts in Revelation 4:6-9 is that (1) they have six wings (2) they can fly (3) they both glorify God saying “Holy, holy, holy, the LORD God Almighty” / Lord of Hosts

Differences:

1. Covered face vs. Different Faces and described individually

The seraphim in Isaiah 6:1-13 has covered their feet with their two wings and can fly, and they covered their face with two wings. But the faces of the beings in Revelation 4:6-9 were individually described. The author states that the first beast looks like a lion, the second beast resembles a calf, the third beast has a resemblance with a face of a man, and the fourth beast is like a flying eagle. Notice that each beast was described separately as the verse emphasize “the first beast”, ” the second beast”, “the third beast” and the “fourth beast.” The verse did not say the beast has a face of a lion, calf, man and flying eagle. If this is the way it has been described then its safe to assume that the beast has four face with six wings. But instead, the author is very clear in stating that they are four different beasts. Just because the seraphim in Isaiah has six wings and the four beasts in Revelation have six wings too doesn’t mean that they are the same. If we scrutinize the verse we’ll see that the beasts being described in Revelation are separate beings, and different from seraphims.

2. Full of eyes

The beasts in Revelation 4:6-9 are described to have full of eyes within, before, and behind, but Isaiah 6:1-13 nor other verses in the Bible did not mention that seraphims are full of eyes. There are other beings in the Bible that are mentioned to have this appearance. (LINK LlNK LINK)———-

3. Location

Isaiah 6:1-13 described the seraphim to be standing above God, who sits on the throne. While the beast in Revelation 4:6-9 are situated in the center, and around the throne (KJV, NLT, ASV). Only prashitta mentioned that they are also located in front of the throne.

Cockatrice a two-legged dragon, or serpent-like creature with a rooster’s head

Disclaimer: Depiction of cockatrice from online source. The cockatrice may or may not look like this.

According to Wikipedia the first Bible to use this word in English was John Wyclif’s 1382’s Bible translation “to translate *different Hebrew *words.” Then  King James Version, followed using it. (Read the Cultural References section of Wikipedia’s Cockatrice to see more.) However, the Lamsa Bible which is the translation of Aramaic Prashitta – an early Bible text (circa AD 100-200)  only mentioned the word viper and not cockatrice. Hence we emphasize here that the photo below may or may not exactly represent the viper H6848 in the Bible.

Unseen Spiritual Warfare

1. Arguing for God’s servants body.

Satan and his bad angels are trying to harm steal us from God. Angels of God are assigned to watch and protect us.

Jude 1:9, LBP
₉ Yet Michael, the archangel, when contending with the devil about the body of Moses, did not dare to bring railing accusation against him, but said, The LORD rebuke thee.

Jude 1:9, NLT
₉ But even Michael, one of the mightiest of the angels, did not dare accuse the devil of blasphemy, but simply said, “The Lord rebuke you!” (This took place when Michael was arguing with the devil about Moses’ body.)

Daniel 12:1, LBP
₁ AND at that time shall Michael arise, the great angel who has charge over your people; and there shall be a time of trouble such as never has been like it since the beginning of the world; and at that very time some of your people shall be delivered, every one whose name shall be found written in the book.

Daniel 12:1, KJV
₁ And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.

Daniel 12:1, NLT
₁ ”At that time Michael, the archangel who stands guard over your nation, will arise. Then there will be a time of anguish greater than any since nations first came into existence. But at that time every one of your people whose name is written in the book will be rescued.

2. War between God’s archangels with angels and rulers of places.

Daniel 10:13,20-21 LBP
₁₃ The ruler of the kingdom of Persia withstood me twenty-one days; but lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there against the wishes of the ruler of Persia.
₂₀ Then he said to me, Do you know why I have come to you? And now I will return to fight with the ruler of Persia; and when I went out, lo, the ruler of Greece came.
₂₁ But I will show you that which is noted in the scripture of truth; and there is none to help me in these things but Michael your prince and myself.

Daniel 10:13,20-21, KJV
₁₃ But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia.
₂₀ Then said he, Knowest thou wherefore I come unto thee? and now will I return to fight with the prince of Persia: and when I am gone forth, lo, the prince of Greece shall come.
₂₁ But I will show thee that which is noted in the Scripture of truth: and there is none that holdeth with me in these things, but Michael your prince.

3. Angelic warriors against the dragon Satan

Revelation 12:7-9, LBP
₇ And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon and his angels fought,
₈ But did not prevail; neither was their place found any longer in heaven.
₉ Thus the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world: he was cast out on the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

Eyes Opened To The Unseen

Origin of what we see

What we see now originated or came from what we don’t see.

Hebrews 11:3, LBP
₃ For it is through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen came to be from those which are not seen.

Hebrews 11:3, KJV
₃ Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

God in invisible yet real

God is invisible but he is real, and when Moses saw God for real the Bible states he was able to survive.

Colossians 1:15, LBP
₁₅ He is the image of the invisible God, and the first-born of every creature:

Colossians 1:15, KJV
₁₅ Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:

Hebrews 11:27, LBP
₂₇ By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king; and he survived after he had seen God, who is invisible.

Hebrews 11:27, KJV
₂₇ By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible.

Christ, as the manifestation of the invisible God

Christ said that whoever sees Him, has already seen the God the Father who sent Him.

John 12:40,45-46, LBP
₄₀ Their eyes have become blind and their heart darkened, so that they cannot see with their eyes and understand with their heart; let them return and I will heal them.
₄₅ And he who sees me, has already seen him who sent me.
₄₆ I have come into the world as the light, so that whoever believes in me may not remain in the darkness.

Visible and invisible creations (dominions, angels)

God has created both invisible and invisible. This includes the imperial thrones, or lordships, or angelic orders, or dominions. And we are fighting against angels, and with powers, with the rulers of this world of darkness, and with the evil spirits under the heavens.

Colossians 1:16, LBP
₁₆ And through him were created all things that are in heaven, and on earth, visible and invisible; whether imperial thrones, or lordships, or angelic orders, or dominions, all things were in his hand and were created by him:

Colossians 1:16, KJV
₁₆ For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:

Ephesians 6:12, LBP
₁₂ For your conflict is not only with flesh and blood, but also with the angels, and with powers, with the rulers of this world of darkness, and with the evil spirits under the heavens.

Ephesians 6:12, KJV
₁₂ For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Ephesians 6:12, NLT
₁₂ For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.

Ephesians 6:12 ASV
₁₂ For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world – rulers of this darkness, against the spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

Opened eyes makes us conscious

It is possible to see but not see. Our eyes could be open but doesn’t mean we can pay attention to other things. Adam and Eve can see things around them but notice that it was mentioned that only after eating their eyes were opened that they were able to notice their nakedness.

Genesis 3:6-7, LBP
₆ So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and that the tree was delightful to look at, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and she also gave to her husband with her; and he did eat.
₇ Then the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.

Genesis 3:6-7, KJV
₆ And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.
₇ And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.

Genesis 3:6, NLT
₆ The woman was convinced. She saw that the tree was beautiful and its fruit looked delicious, and she wanted the wisdom it would give her. So she took some of the fruit and ate it. Then she gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it, too.

Genesis 3:6, ASV
₆ And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat; and she gave also unto her husband with her, and he did eat.

Angels

There might be angels on our way but we can’t see them, but animals may see them. Only when our eyes are opened could we see these beings.

Numbers 22:21-34, LBP
₂₁ So Balaam rose up in the morning and saddled his ass and went with the princes of Balak.
₂₂ And God’s anger was kindled against him because he went; and the angel of the LORD stood in the way for an adversary against him. Now as he was riding on his she-ass, and his two servants with him,
₂₃ The she-ass saw the angel of the LORD standing in the way, and his sword drawn and held in his hand; and the she-ass turned aside out of the way and went into the field; and Balaam struck the she-ass to turn her into the way.
₂₄ But the angel of the LORD stood in a path of the vineyard, a wall being on this side and a wall on that side.
₂₅ And when the she-ass saw the angel of the LORD, she thrust herself against the wall and pressed Balaam’s foot against the wall; and he struck her again.
₂₆ And the angel of the LORD went further, and stood in a narrow place where there was no way to turn either to the right or to the left.
₂₇ And when the she-ass saw the angel of the LORD, she lay down under Balaam; and Balaam’s anger was kindled, and he struck the she-ass with a staff.
₂₈ And the LORD opened the mouth of the she-ass and she said to Balaam, What have I done to you that you have struck me these three times?
₂₉ And Balaam said to the she-ass, Because you have mocked me; I would there were a sword in my hands, for now would I kill you.
₃₀ And the she-ass said to Balaam, Am I not your she-ass upon which you have ridden from your youth even to this day? Have I ever behaved in this manner toward you? And he said to her, No.
₃₁ Then the LORD opened the eyes of Balaam and he saw the angel of the LORD standing in the way with his sword drawn and held in his hand; and he bowed down his head and worshipped on his face.
₃₂ And the angel of the LORD said to him, Why have you struck your she-ass these three times? Behold, I went out to be an adversary against you, because you have directed your course contrary to me;
₃₃ And the she-ass saw me and turned aside from me these three times; and if she had not turned aside from me, surely now I would have slain you, and saved her alive.
₃₄ And Balaam said to the angel of the LORD, I have sinned; for I did not know that thou didst stand in the way against me; now therefore, if my mission is evil in thy eyes, I will turn back again.

Chariots of fire

2 Kings 2:9-12, LBP
₉ And when they had crossed, Elijah said to Elisha, Ask what I shall do for you before I am taken away from you. And Elisha said, Let a double portion of your spirit be upon me.
₁₀ And he said, You have asked too much; nevertheless, if you see me when I am taken from you, it shall be so to you; but if not, it shall not be so.
₁₁ And it came to pass, as they still went on and talked, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire and horses of fire, and separated the two; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.
₁₂ And Elisha saw it and he cried, saying, My father, my father, the chariot of Israel and the horsemen thereof. And he saw him no more; and he took hold of his own clothes and tore them in two pieces.

2 Kings 6:15-20, LBP
₁₅ And when the servant of the prophet of God arose early and went out, behold, an army surrounded the city both with horses and chariots. And his servant said to him, Alas, my master! what shall we do?
₁₆ And he said to him, Fear not; for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.
₁₇ And Elisha prayed to the LORD and said, O LORD, open his eyes that he may see. And the LORD opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw; and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.
₁₈ And when they came down to him, Elisha prayed to the LORD and said, Smite this people with dimness of vision. And he smote them with dimness according to the word of Elisha.
₁₉ And Elisha said to them, This is not the way, neither is this the city; follow me, and I will bring you to the man whom you seek. But he led them to Samaria.
₂₀ And when they were come into Samaria, Elisha said, O LORD, open the eyes of these men, that they may see. And the LORD opened their eyes, and they saw; and, behold, they were in the midst of Samaria.

God and heavenly beings

When our eyes are opened we can see heavenly beings like seraphim.

₆ Then one of the seraphim flew to me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar;

Ressurected Christ

Unless our eyes our opened we can easily Christ though He is already walking with us. Even if the subject of their conversation is Christ, they are unable to recognize it despite that He is with them and already joined their conversation.

Luke 24:13-16,31-32, LBP
₁₃ And behold two of them were going optn that day to a village called Emmaus, about six miles from Jerusalem.
₁₄ They were talking with each other concerning all these things that had happened.
₁₅ And while they were speaking and asking each other, Jesus came and overtook them, and walked with them.
₁₆ But the sight of their eyes was holden, so that they could not recognize him.
₃₀ And it came to pass, as he sat at meat with them, he took bread and blessed it, and broke it, and gave it to them.
₃₁ And immediately their eyes were opened and they recognized him; and he was taken away from them.

Luke 24:30-31, KJV
₃₀ And it came to pass, as he sat at meat with them, he took bread, and blessed it, and broke, and gave to them.
₃₁ And their eyes were opened, and they knew him; and he vanished out of their sight.

Faith and seeing Christ in Heaven

Faith is believing and hoping for the unseen. Genuine faith enables God’s servants to have their eyes opened and see Christ in heaven.

Hebrews 11:1, LBP
₁ NOW faith is the substance of things hoped for, just as it was the substance of things which have come to pass; and it is the evidence of things not seen,

Acts 7:54-60, LBP
₅₄ When they heard these things, they were enraged, and gnashed their teeth at him.
₅₅ But he, full of faith and Holy Spirit, looked up to heaven and saw the glory of God and Jesus standing at the right hand of God.
₅₆ And he said, Behold I see the heavens opened and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God.
₅₉ And they stoned Stephen as he prayed, saying, Our LORD Jesus, accept my spirit.
₆₀ And as he knelt down, he cried with a loud voice and said, Our LORD, do not hold this sin against them. When he had said this, he passed away.

Focus

Focus on the unseen things because they are eternal.

2 Corinthians 4:18, LBP
₁₈ We do not rejoice in the things which are seen, but in the things which are not seen, for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal

Lake of Fire – Gehenna

Lake of Fire is often misinterpreted as Hades or Bottomless Pit because they are translated in English Bibles similarly to hell. But these three mean differently. (LINK LINK LINK). This post concentrates on Lake of Fire.

γέεννα, ης, ἡ (geenna) 1067

Geenna: Original Word: γέεννα, ης, ἡ (1067 in Strong’s Concordance)
Gehenna, is a valley in West and South of Jerusalem. (1) It is of Hebrew origin (gay’ and Hinnom); valley of (the son of) Hinnom; ge-henna (or Ge-Hinnom) (2)
It is also a symbolic name for the final place of punishment of the ungodly. (1) Used (figuratively) as a name for the place (or state) of everlasting punishment — hell. (2)

🗞 Is hell the same with lake of fire? No. Hell will be thrown out to the lake of fire.

Revelation 20:14
14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fireThis is the second death.

🗞 Lake of fire is the second death

Revelation 20:14

proselyte– a person who has converted from one opinion, religion, or party to another – Definitions from Oxford Languages).

5. Those who are sinful

Revelation 21:8
But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

6. Those people who lived like the people in Sodom and Gomorrah

Jude 1:7

Revelation 19:20

🗞 How does Lake of Fire Looks Like: Description

1. It is a lake with fire and brimstone: a furnace of fire

Revelation 21:8
But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstonewhich is the second death.

₈ The centurion then answered and said, My Lord, I am not good enough that you should enter under the shadow of my roof; but just say a word, and my boy will be healed.
₉ For I am also a man in government service, and there are soldiers under my command; and I say to this one, Go, and he goes; and to the other, Come, and he comes; and to my servant, Do this, and he does it.
₁₂ But the sons of the kingdom will be put out in the outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

2. A place that is located in the outer darkness.

Matthew 25:30
30 And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Matthew 8:8-12, LBP

🗞 What will happen to those who were thrown out to the Lake of Fire/ Hell – Gehenna) ?

1. A place of everlasting punishment, torment and destruction with no rest day and night

Revelation 20:10
10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever

Revelation 14:9-11
And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand,
10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:
11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.

Matthew 25:46
46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.

2 Thessalonians 1:9 (did not use any word hell)
Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;

2. Body and soul will be destroyed in hell-Gehenna

Matthew 10:28
28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

Notice that when God is furious due to evil doings, the punishment involves fire. This is states in Jeremiah 21:12

Jeremiah 21:12
12 O house of David, thus saith the Lord; Execute judgment in the morning, and deliver him that is spoiled out of the hand of the oppressor, lest my fury go out like fire, and burn that none can quench it, because of the evil of your doings.

There is a gate to Hell and it is wide. The road going there is also broad

Matthew 7:13
13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:

Matthew 16:18
18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

Reasons why many will go to Hell particularly the Lake of Fire

What you see, do and go could lead to Lake of Fire

1. What you see

Matthew 18:9
And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire.

Matthew 5:29
29 And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.

Mark 9:47
47 And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire:

2. Where you go to

Mark 9:45
45 And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:

3. What you do

Mark 9:43
43 And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:

Matthew 5:30
30 And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.

🗞 Will there be anyone who will be exempted from going to Hell (lake of Fire)

Revelation 20:6
Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

Jude 1: 21-23
21 Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.
22 And of some have compassion, making a difference:
23 And others save with fearpulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.

“₁ NOW the serpent was more subtle than all the wild beasts that the LORD God had made. And the serpent said to the woman, Truly has God said that you shall not eat of any tree of the garden?
₄ And the serpent said to the woman, You shall not surely die;
₅ For God knows that in the day you eat of it, your eyes shall be opened, and you shall be like gods, knowing good and evil.
₁₃ And the LORD God said to the woman, What is this that you have done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat.
₁₄ And the LORD God said to the serpent, Because you have done this thing, cursed are you above all cattle, and above all beasts of the field; on your belly shall you go, and dust shall you eat all the days of your life;

1. Going back and forth in heaven and earth

In job story (old testament) Satan can freely go anywhere. He can go on earth and heaven back and forth. But to be able to do what he wants to do, he needs to ask permission from God first. He also goes everywhere to accuse

“₆ Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present them selves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them.
₇ And the LORD said to Satan, Whence have you come? Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking on it.
₁₁ But put forth thy hand now, and destroy all that he has, and he will curse thee to thy face.
₁₂ And the LORD said to Satan, Behold, all that he has is in your power; only upon himself you shall not put forth your hand. So Satan went out from the presence of the LORD.”
Job 1:6-7,11-12, LBP

“₁ AGAIN there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them to present himself before the LORD.
₂ And the LORD said to Satan, Whence have you come? And Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking on it.
₅ But put forth thy hand now, and touch his flesh or his bone, and he will curse thee to thy face.
₆ And the LORD said to Satan, Behold, he is delivered into your hands; only spare his life.
₇ So Satan went forth from the presence of the LORD, and smote Job with cancer from the sole of his foot to his brain.”
Job 2:1-7, LBP

2. Cast out from heaven to earth

When Satan, otherwise called as Devil, old serpent or dragon has lost in the war in heaven, Satan and his angels were thrown out on earth. And when he was casted down from heaven he pursued the woman who had given birth to a son

“₇ And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon and his angels fought,
₈ But did not prevail; neither was their place found any longer in heaven.
₉ Thus the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world: he was cast out on the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
₁₀ And I heard a loud voice in heaven saying, Now the deliverance and the power and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ, has been accomplished: for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before God day and night, is cast down.
₁₁ And they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they did not spare themselves even unto death.
₁₂ Therefore rejoice, O ye heavens and you who dwell in them. Woe to the inhabitants of the earth, and of the sea! for the Devil has come down to you; and his wrath is great, because he knows that his time is short.
₁₃ And when the dragon saw that he was cast down to the earth, he pursued the woman who had given birth to a son.
Revelation 12:7-13, LBP

Satan is roaming around the earth

Satan goes in different place in the earth. is on earth. Claiming as if it owned the earth and will give it to Christ if He worshipped satan. (Note: only the king James translation was this words were written: I will give you all this power and its glory, which are entrusted to me, andI give it to whom I please;. Prashitta Lamsa, New Living Translation and American Standard did not include these words in the text.

“₁ THEN Jesus was carried away by the Holy Spirit into the wilderness, to be tempted by the adversary.
₃ And the tempter drew near and said to him, If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.
₅ Then the adversary took him to the holy city, and he made him to stand up on the pinnacle of the temple.
₆ And he said to him, If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down; for it is written, that he will command his angels concerning you, and they will bear you up on their hands, so that even your foot may not strike a stone.
₈ Again the adversary took him to a very high mountain, and he showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory.
₉ And he said to him, All of these I will give to you, if you will fall down and worship me.
Matthew 4:1,3,5-6, 8-9 LBP

“₁ NOW Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan, and the Spirit carried him away into the wilderness,
₅ Then Satan took him up to a high mountain, and showed him all the kingdoms of the earth in a short time.
₆ And the adversary said to him, I will give you all this power and its glory, which are entrusted to me, and I give it to whom I please;
₇ If therefore you worship me, it will all be yours.
₉ And he brought him to Jerusalem and made him to stand up on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to him, If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down from here;
₁₀ For it is written, That he will command his angels concerning you, to watch you;
₁₁ And they will take you up in their arms, so that even your foot may not strike a stone.
₁₂ Jesus answered and said to him, It is said, You shall not tempt the Lord your God.
₁₃ When the adversary was through with all his temptations, he left him for some time.”
–  Luke 4:1,5-7,9 -13, LBP

“₁₂ And immediately the Spirit drove him out into the wilderness.
₁₃ And he was there in the wilderness forty days, being tried out by Satan; and he was with the wild beasts; and the angels ministered to him.”
–  Mark 1:12-13, LBP

Christ himself said Satan has fallen from heaven

Christ instructed his disciples to reach out to others as well. When the disciples returned Christ mentioned about Satan falling from heaven.

“₁ AFTER these things, Jesus selected from his disciples seventy others, and he sent them two by two before his face, to every place and city to which he was to go.
₂ And he said to them, The harvest is great, and the laborers are few; ask therefore the owner of the harvest, to bring out laborers to his harvest.
₃ Go forth; behold, I send you as lambs among wolves.
₄ Do not carry purses, nor bags, nor shoes; and do not salute any man on the road.

₁₇ So the seventy whom he had sent returned with great joy, and they said to him, Our Lord, even the demons have submitted to us in your name.
₁₈ He said to them, I saw Satan falling like lightning from heaven.
Luke 10:1-4,17-18, LBP

3. Cast out from the world

Beginning from the Triumphant entry of Christ to Jerusalem, he started to mention again about being glorified. This event occurred a few days before Passover (John 12:1). This is the beginning of Christ journey to crucifixion. It leads to the succeeding events from last supper, Judas betrayal, and prayer at the Gethsemane garden where he was arrested. Christ mentioned about judgment. Notice that he also repeatedly say that that the leader/ prince of this world will be cast out. Observe that Christ did not say cast out from heaven. But he repeatedly mentioned the word world.

“₁₂ On the next day, a large crowd which had come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem,
₁₃ Took branches of palm trees, and went out to greet him, and they cried out and said, Hosanna, Blessed is the king of Israel who comes in the name of the Lord.
₁₄ And Jesus found an ass and sat on it; as it is written,
₁₅ Fear not, O daughter of Zion; behold, your king cometh to you, riding on the colt of an ass.
₁₆ His disciples did not understand these things at that time; but when Jesus was glorified, then his disciples remembered that these things were written concerning him, and that they had done these things to him.
₁₇ The people who were with him testified that he had called Lazarus from the tomb, and raised him from the dead.”
John 12:12-17, LBP

“₂₃ Jesus answered and said to them, The hour has come that the Son of man should be glorified.
₂₄ Truly, truly, I say to you, that unless a grain of wheat falls and dies in the ground, it will be left alone; but if it dies, it produces much fruit.
₂₅ He who loves his life will lose it; and he who has no concern for his life in this world will keep it unto life eternal.
₂₆ If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there also will my servant be; he who serves me, him my Father will honor.
₂₇ Now my soul is disturbed, and what shall I say? O my Father, deliver me from this hour; but for this cause I came to this very hour.
₂₈ O Father, glorify your name. Then a voice was heard from heaven, I am glorified, and I shall again be glorified.
₂₉ And the people who stood by heard it, and said, It was thunder; others said, An angel spoke to him.
₃₀ Jesus answered and said to them, This voice was not on my account, but for your sake.
₃₁ Now is the judgment of this world; now the leader of this world will be cast out.”
–  John 12:23-31, LBP

₂₃ And Jesus answered them, saying, The hour is come, that the Son of man should be glorified.
₃₁ Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out.”
– John 12:23,31: KJV

Christ washes the feet of the disciples

“₁ NOW before the feast of the passover, Jesus knew the hour had come to depart from this world to his Father. And he loved his own who were in this world, and he loved them unto the end.
₂ During supper, Satan put into the heart of Judas, son of Simon of Iscariot, to deliver him.
₅ Then he poured water into a basin, and began to wash the feet of his disciples, and to wipe them with the apron which was tied around his loins.”
John 13:1-2,5 LBP

“₂₆ Jesus answered and said, The one for whom I dip bread and give to him. So Jesus dipped the bread, and gave it to Judas, the son of Simon of Iscariot.
₂₇ And after the bread, Satan took possession of him. So Jesus said to him, What you are going to do, do it soon.
₂₈ But no man of those who were sitting at the table understood what he said to him.
₂₉ For some of them thought, because the purse was with Judas, that he ordered him to buy what was needed for the feast; or to give something to the poor.
₃₀ Judas then received the bread and went outside immediately; it was night when he went out.
₃₁ Jesus then said, Now the Son of man is glorified, and God is glorified by him.”
–  John 13:26-31, LBP

“₃₀ Hereafter I will not talk much with you; for the prince of this world comes; and yet he has nothing against me.”
– John 14:30, LBP

“₅ But now I am going to him who sent me, and yet no one of you asks me, Where are you going?

₁₀ Concerning righteousness, because I go to my Father, and you will not see me again;
₁₁ Concerning judgment, because the leader of this world has been judged.”
– John 16:5,10-11, LBP

Fallen angels in the bottomless pit

◾Fallen angels

“₅ I will, therefore, remind you, though you once knew this, that God, having redeemed and saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed those who did not believe.
₆ And the angels that did not keep their first estate but left their own habitation, he has reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.
₇ Even as Sodom and Gomorrah and the neighbouring cities which in like manner gave themselves over to fornication, and followed after other carnal lusts, are condemned to judgment and placed under everlasting fire;
₈ Likewise also, these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise authority, and blaspheme against the glory.”
Jude 1:5-8, LBP

◾Angel of the bottomless pit and his locusts looking subordinates

₁ AND the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star fall from heaven upon the earth: and to him was given the key of the bottomless pit.
₂ And he opened the bottomless pit; and there arose a smoke out of the pit, as smoke belching from a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit.
₃ And there came out of the smoke locusts upon the earth: and to them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power.

₇ And the shapes of the locusts were like unto horses prepared for battle; and on their heads were, as it were, crowns like gold, and their faces were as faces of men.
₈ And they had hair as the hair of women, and their teeth were as the teeth of lions.
₉ And they had breastplates, as though they were breastplates of iron; and the sound of their wings was as the sound of chariots of many horses running to battle.
₁₀ And they had tails like unto scorpions, and there were stings in their tails: and they had power to hurt men five months.
₁₁ And they had a king over them, who was the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in Hebrew is, A-bad’don, but in Greek his name is A-poll’yon.
Revelation 9:1-3,7-11, LBP

₁ AND I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit, and a great chain in his hand.
₂ And he seized the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Tempter and Satan, who deceived the whole world, and bound him a thousand years,
₃ And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up and set a seal over him, that he should no more deceive the nations until the thousand years should be fulfilled: after that he will be loosed for a short time.

₇ And when the thousand years come to an end. Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,
Revelation 20:1-3,7, LBP

◾Fallen from heaven! howl in the morning (Babylon king)

– also called day-star, son of the morning (ASV) fallen from heaven, O shining star, son of the morning (NLT). Only the King James Version had mentioned the name Lucifer.

Though many biblical scholars believe that this chapter refers to Satan because they say that Satan’s other name is Lucifer, it’s important to notice that in verse 4, it mentions that it’s about the King of Babylon and verse 16 says it’s a man. Many will argue that despite the carnal nature of how this being was described through the words used, it must not be interpreted literally because it has a deeper meaning. We are not saying this is not satan, and the assumption that this is satan is incorrect.

However, we don’t want to jump into theories unless we have seen biblical verses that strongly support this assumption. It is our goal to understand the bible objectively and accurately by allowing verses to interpret what verses say. This chapter though is filed/included under the fallen star prince post because it is related to the topic. This post will be updated as soon as we have gained wisdom and a better understanding of this topic.

“₄ You shall take up this proverb against the king of Babylon, and say, How has the ruler ceased! the zealous one ceased!
₉ Sheol beneath is murmuring at your coming; it stirs up against you all the mighty men, even all the rulers of the earth whom you overthrew from their thrones.
₁₁ Your pomp is brought down to Sheol, the noise of your harps is dead; the dust is spread under you, and the worms cover you.
₁₂ How are you fallen from heaven! howl in the morning! for you have fallen down to the ground, O reviler of the nations.
₁₃ For you have said in your heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will dwell also upon the high mountains in the outer regions of the north.
₁₄ I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.
₁₅ From henceforth you shall be brought down to Sheol, to the bottom of the pit.
₁₆ Those who see you shall stare at you and consider you, saying, Is this the man who made the earth to tremble, who shook kingdoms;
₁₉ But you are cast out of your grave like an abominable person, and as the raiment of those that are slain, thrust through by the sword, that go down to the stones of the pit; as corpses trodden under foot.
–  Isaiah 14:4,9,11-16,19 LBP

“₄ That thou shalt take up this proverb against the king of Babylon, and say, How hath the oppressor ceased! the golden city ceased!
₉ Hell from beneath is moved for thee to meet thee at thy coming: it stirreth up the dead for thee, even all the chief ones of the earth; it hath raised up from their thrones all the kings of the nations.
₁₁ Thy pomp is brought down to the grave, and the noise of thy viols: the worm is spread under thee, and the worms cover thee.
₁₂ How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!
₁₃ For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:
₁₄ I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.
₁₅ Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.
₁₆ They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms;
₁₉ But thou art cast out of thy grave like an abominable branch, and as the raiment of those that are slain, thrust through with a sword, that go down to the stones of the pit; as a carcass trodden under feet.
–  Isaiah 14:4,9,11-16,19, KJV

₄ you will taunt the king of Babylon. You will say, “The mighty man has been destroyed. Yes, your insolence is ended.
₉ ”In the place of the dead there is excitement over your arrival. The spirits of world leaders and mighty kings long dead stand up to see you.
₁₁ Your might and power were buried with you. The sound of the harp in your palace has ceased. Now maggots are your sheet, and worms your blanket.’
₁₂ ”How you are fallen from heaven, O shining star, son of the morning! You have been thrown down to the earth, you who destroyed the nations of the world.
₁₃ For you said to yourself, ‘I will ascend to heaven and set my throne above God’s stars. I will preside on the mountain of the gods far away in the north.
₁₄ I will climb to the highest heavens and be like the Most High.’
